As Ian would say, "Oosies!"

Don't worry, it wasn't my truck:

Both on ramps from Denny Rd and Allen Blvd to 217 north are not truck friendly as one of our drivers from Portland found out today. We were headed to our second job this morning and noticed one of our trucks on the side of the on ramp. Then we noticed the pallet up in the air so we turned around to come and help. The pallet of shakes started on the driver's side of the truck and rolled over a small pallet of ridge glass on the passenger side. The entire pallet was still all banded together and the one strap was still over the load. That's right, he only used one strap. One rule with hauling shakes is: use as many straps as you can and when you think the straps are tight, tighten them some more, and then some more after that. It didn't take long for the four of us to have this cleaned up and restacked. We put two straps on it this time. Here is the conversation between the driver who was tightening down the straps after we reloaded him:
Driver: "Does that look good, they're pretty tight?"
Me: "Can you still tighten them?"
Driver: "Yeah."
Me: "Then no! Tighten them some more."
Some people never learn.
Peace out,
Jake
Ps: I hope this doesn't make you nervous Mom.

The reason you both "get it" is because you have a great dad who taught you well plus a great grandaddad who taught your dad well.
