Well the head of it is an expensive Black walnut breed from the outskirts of a trailer park. The handle is a piece of oak that I got 3 or 4 years ago. Kinda funny because after I got them I put a bunch of those pieces in Grandpa's garage. They all got demoted to the corral with a couple maple branches I forgot about. At least they are still around to use. All the pieces of walnut I turned for a handle started out too big and I didn't want to waste them. So I used the oak. Now I need to put a finish on it.
